Idea to Image: Abstracting from Nature
How does your environment influence your imagery?
What do you see as you move through your day? Enhance your awareness, learn how your design choices (deliberate and intuitive) affect your compositions. Explore the essence of abstraction.
This workshop combines visual journaling and collage techniques with an introduction to and exploration of the elements and principles of design.
Required: You must be comfortable with on-line communication and Yahoo Groups. High speed connectivity is recommended.
All class materials and lessons will be available on-line.Time committment 12 hours minimum spannning 3 weeks.
Materials:
Pad of watercolor paper, spiral bound is best, about 9"x 12"
Post-it notes, any size, any color
Zip-loc baggies, sanwhch size or snack sizMark making tools: these might be inexpensive color markers, felt tip pens, crayons, water-soluble paint sticks, water based paints of any sort
Inexpensive paint brushes
Adhesives: might include glue sticks, rubber cement, gel medium
Scraps of fabric, paper, photos, found objects, ephemera... No need to gather in advance
