clearing out!

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

The BIG SALE begins TODAY!!!  April 10, ends April 18.

Prices are dropping regularly.

There is some fun stuff, some serious work, all will be finding new homes…

It is all about transforming “investments” into the stuff that pays the medical bills, keeps the utilities functioning, supports the local economy.

Meanwhile YOU get the opportunity to acquire little gifts for self or others, to feather your nest, add to your stash,  and bring bits and pieces of my process into your life.

check out the “store” page and gallery4.

detail from  the newest piece, “little rooms: Blues in the Night”.

Have you subscribed to the Museletter? It is back, with a new look.

New on my web store page, Fabric Stash Bags! Although it sounds slightly illicit, it is a great way for you to add usable bits to your stash while I continue to reduce my supplies as my work is changing. Each bag is unique and reflects the pallette I’ve been using for the past several years.

The next round of private coaching begins on the 28th of this month. Again, see my web site for details.

Upcoming workshops include an extended studio in Iowa, the Textile Evolution Retreat in Colorado and Fabrications in Kalamazoo, later in the year. For details, see the next Museletter due to mail out in the next few days (to subscribe, go to my home page) or check my website early next week. I am in process of updating everything, but it is slow going.

the high country

I went to the high country only once this Summer, for the 4th of July to spend time with my sister and her husband. He passed away exactly a week later. Now, thinking of going up there breaks my heart. M and Sam are there now to winterize the cabins for both our families. It should be beautiful! Crisp temperatures, some snow, but warm during the days.

We totally missed Indian Summer here in the low country. There was a sustained, record breaking freeze while I was in Chicago and all the green leaves just dropped. No color changes this year – I rather miss that. Beau and I will be working in the gardens the next few days, raking, pruning, putting in a new rock path and planting daffodils. I love the thought of investing in color for a season yet to come. Yet another idea of sanctuary and sacred space.

I appreciate everyone’s thoughts on that topic. You have helped me clarify my own.

be well!

do some studio work.

keep in touch.

February 9, short notes

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Long hours at the computer. For some reason, my software “Office for Mac” has quit working.

Of course, “support” for it has expired. Choices: use the laptop or buy a more recent version of Office for Mac. None of my word.docs will open. frustration. It is, after all, a Monday.

I did get studio time this weekend – bliss, and will be putting up new photos in the next day or so.

today is my youngest sister’s birthday. I am wishing her a better year in 2009.

  • my most recent museletter went out this afternoon. To subscribe, click here.
  • tax returns for 2008 are done and filed

Registration for the next session of on-line classes is in full swing. Hope to see you there!

NEWS:
Since I am out of storage space and my work is changing quickly, all available pieces will be available on a “Gambler’s Sale” basis.

Beginning tonight, prices in my g alleries will start to drop. The risk is that if you wait, the piece(s) you want will be gone. The advantage is that you will be getting good work at a great price. (as an aside, I accept payment plans, but you have to inquire).

and that’s all I know right now.

is it really Friday?

Friday, February 6th, 2009

The week has flown by, this day is about to do the same. There’s been forward motion. This is a good thing.

  • the unpacking from my Iowa teaching trip is complete. (It was a wonderful 4 day workshop!),
  • The house is more or less restored to a livable space (it’s amazing what happens here in my absence)
  • works from the Sage exhibit are listed on my website, but I think some need to be re-photographed
  • my most recent museletter went out. To subscribe, click here.
  • taxes for 2008 are nearly done! hooray.
  • although the list of things I need to do keeps getting longer, maybe I am beginning to feel a sense of what passes for control in my life – for the first time since September, I think.

Registration for the next session of on-line classes is in full swing. Hope to see you there!
